Use your GPS and these proven routes. There will be street closures downtown – if you see those, you’re headed in the right direction! Parking is always free, and we have a shuttle service with parking at a nearby school parking lot. Please review the grounds map while planning your trip.

• From Austin: US 183 South through Lockhart and Luling, continue into Gonzales toward the square

• From San Antonio: I 10 East to TX 97 East and US 183 North into town

• From Houston: I 10 West to US 183 North into town

Definitely comfortable shoes! If you will be watching the parade, or plan to set up for the free live musical acts, many choose bring a small folding chair and hat – and even your dancing shoes if space allows. The days are warm, and the evenings are usually pleasant during the first week of October. Be sure to check the weather before you head down. All pets must be on a leash!

Here are a list of items that you may not bring: No unauthorized ATVs, no coolers, no large baskets, no alcohol, no oversized umbrellas, no tents, no hammocks or slack lines, no canopies (exceptions for approved vendors), no oversized beach or lounge chairs, no bicycles on celebration grounds.

Absolutely! Check out the petting zoo, art show hours, kids activity zones, and daytime concerts. Strollers are welcome on sidewalks and lawn areas.

Leashed, well-behaved pets are welcome outdoors. Service animals are permitted per ADA guidelines. There are many brick and mortar businesses that line up downtown, and common courtesy suggests checking with them before entering as they set their own rules. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pets.

Most food and craft vendors take cards. ATMs are placed near the square. If you want to purchase a beverage at the Beer Tent, or food at the Texas themed food tent, you will need to purchase tokens and tickets available at the ticket booth. The ticket booth is located between the beer tent and food tent. See our official map for locations.

There will be a ton of options for food and hydration at the food booth area, and even more adult beverage selections at the Beer Tent. Bring cash to purchase tokens and tickets to  exchange at these areas. There are also a number of restaurants in the area, mostly casual dining, Mexican, and barbeque – you will need to exit the grounds and navigate parking upon your return.
